I've tried, and my tank raised Ocellaris clowns have no interest in entering a BTA. When I was in the hobby in the mid 90's-early 2000's, I had two Tomato Clowns that would stick to a BTA like velcro, unless of course I got my hand/arm within 10" or so of the anemone, and then they would leave the anemone like hornets leaving their nest to attack me with the ferocity of hornets. I got used to it, and even got to where I didn't flinch. That said, I would really like to replace my Ocellaris with clowns that would likely enter a BTA, but I would like the least aggressive clowns possible. Any suggestions?

Try some True Percula clowns. They shouldn't be as agressive Also being wild, they should show more interest in your BTA

Wouldn't Percs be as hit-or-miss as Ocellaris? Also, aren't Percs often tank raised? It seems like most clown fish are now tank raised to the point where even if "tank raised" isn't stated, there is a good chance they actually are tank raised. I'm not saying that is a bad thing from a conservation standpoint. Only that I might be in the same boat.

Give it some time. Ocellaris and Perculas both will eventually host btas from experience whether or not they're tank raised/wild caught.

Disrupting the tank in some way by moving rocks around often cause the clowns to change habits.

I know that feeling, it seems it is forever before the clowns dive in into the host anemone. They say, patience, but I don’t have those. So I tried pictures, videos and even to the point of catching the clowns and dropping then to the anemone.
Have been lucky, since my last purchase of captive breed pink skunk dived into the anemone 48 hours being in my tank. My mated pair of ocellaris that have been with bubble tip for two years which I moved to my other tank is just now testing the malu after two weeks of swimming around it.
