Least aggressive tangs?

Hello, I was wondering what are the most peaceful tangs to mix with other tangs? I currently have a yellow tang right now any suggestions?

Mines a beast lol… I’d put that on the bottom of my list.. mimmic and kole tangs are peaceful.. convict if you can keep one alive.. naso is chill if you have a large tank.

They're all a sliding scale of "nice." And it depends on the individual fish. I've heard good things about convict and chevron tangs. Tomini tangs have a relatively chill track record for tangs. Nasos are supposedly very chill but need bigger tanks

How big of a tank would you need for a naso?

I'd say no smaller than a 180gallon, and the bigger the better. They can get well over a foot long

Min 180 but preferably larger.. they get big in captivity.

Fowleri tangs are chill. They get big but are super docile. I hand feed mine and they change colors on their mood which is cool too

My Yellow, Blue Eye Kole, Tomini, and Hippo tangs are all pretty docile and chill with each other. My Powder Blue is has the zoomies a lot and is generally cool with the others, but gets Hangry when he hasn't even enough and will start chasing the others a bit.

Why do you think fowleri aren't more common in large tanks? They're such beautiful tangs

It's really hard to say. Tangs are tangs. My tomini tang is pretty chill but a rude boy sometimes. Some tomini tangs are pretty evil. Tang addition especially with other established tangs = gamble

My hippo is not aggressive, in fact he is more of a scary cat, though he is the second largest fish in my tank. Largest is a rabbit fish who is not aggressive either.

My Kole is the A hole my hippo is pretty chill

They all have different personalities. You never really know until you try. My yellow tang was a sweetheart.

Opposite for me… my hippo is skittish if I’m near the tank and hides in the rocks.. when I’m chilling across the room it bullies my other tangs.. it’s the largest fish I have also.. fox face is right behind and almost as big.

Well, I can tell you which ones are the most aggressive . Powder Blue and Achilles tang, they are just beast.

From my own experience, orange shoulder, naso, chevron and tomini tang are good citizens but each fish has his own personality.

I really don’t know. Maybe availability and cost keeps their demand lower. These have become my favorite tang over the years
