Leather coral brown at base

My coral has brown at base, seems to be shrinking some. Anything to worry about? This crab just went on it. Sorry for the bad picture.

I had to scroll back and look through photos of my own leathers. In my opinion, this looks to be a normal hardening of the base. It's also present on my softies.

Ok, I appreciate it. Just not trying to lose more coral if I can prevent it.

It might grow a little algae on the base but it seems like your CUC is already aware.

Looks like normal leather behavior, mine does the same
