Hello all,
i have a leather coral that has been great for 8 months, looks really good, i have even taken a small cutting 3 months ago and that has fixed to a rock and is growing fine,
my main leather howevery has just started to have holes in it and seems to be coming apart,
my question is this - is this normal, it still has all its green polups out, is this its way of reproducing by splitting up or is somthing wrong? the cutting i have taken is looking great and growing, i do have high alk at 13 but im trying to get this down buy using hydrogenchloride acid, the coral started to brake up before i started the acid, im adding 10ml a day on a 800ltr tank, no change in alk yet, testing daily.
Any help welcome.
Regards,
Nik

Can we see a pic of the leather? Did you use iodine or some other disinfectant when cutting it? I would let the alk come down naturally, it should not take terribly long.

Hi Thanks for your reply, I will get a photo hopefully tomorrow when im back, yes to using iodine, that part closed up well,
regards,
Nik
