Leather Coral: Dying or shedding?

I bought two leather corals on the same piece of rock last Friday. The one leather coral is opening but the other is not.

From what I read, it is likely shedding. But there are also two brown dots on the coral (center of the picture and on the top left most finger). What do you all think?

it looks fine, it can stay shrivelled like that for days at a time. Ensure it has enough flow to shed, sometimes I take a turkey baster and gently blow on it to help it along.
