A few days ago at the LFS I decided to get a leather Coral. I didn't really know what I wanted and I don't really know anything about leather coral. So I was told to get a spaghetti coral. I a bad habit of saying I'll take a picture at the LFS and then compare if something seems different but I never do. I remember at the store that it was more of a brown colour and now it is a purple. I do see skin coming off but I know that they shed. I tried to do some reading on signs of it dying but I can't really find anything for my specific case. I read that if i turkey baste it and it falls apart then it is dead but I'd rather be proactive instead of reactive.

Also seems to be drooping over. If that means anything.

Usually leathers when added to a new tank will look pretty sad looking but that's because they're getting used to the tank. We bought a very expensive toadstool leather and for the life of me that leather didn't look healthy till we had it for about a month.
I wouldn't worry too much unless it looks like it's decaying, leathers are usually very hardy and can be placed about anywhere in the tank from my experience. I have three and all vary in different spots with flow and light.
Just watch it for the next couple days and keep us posted. If it starts to look worse then we'll need to know your parameters and go from there.
