About 3 days ago my leather polyps stopped extending and the head has started to close. Have had the coral for about a month and have not had a full day where it wasn’t extended at some point. Not sure exactly what the issue may be. All the other corals seem to be happy. 1st and only leather not sure what the issue may be. Mid flow. Par is around 75-80

Any tips welcomed.

Sarcophyton aka toadstools typically go through regular shedding cycles. Polyps will retract and a waxy looking sheen will develop on the coral, then it will shed a thin skin. This is likely what’s happening.

Don't sweat it, it's shedding. Hit it with some blasts from a turkey baster and you will see it slough off the old coat.
Cool, thanks. I knew they shedded but didn’t know how the processed looked. Appreciate it.

One of mine was in this annoyed state for 3 weeks, opened up finally and is much larger, so it can take a while. I only worry if the toadstool head starts to feel mushy. It should feel firm when healthy. I wouldn't bother even checking for a couple of weeks, though.
