I have this leather, I think maybe it’s a devils hand. As you can see from the picture he’s blown to one side. Is this too much flow? When he was new it was flat and the fingers opened up.

It's possible, what do you have in your tank for flow? It's also possible that it's shedding. How long has it been like this?

He’s been like that for a while now at least a few months. I had him in another spot but moved him to his current spot to make room. Once I moved him this is pretty much how it’s been. I have a max gyre on the other end. It does move a lot of water.

If you're able to, try moving him to a spot with less flow and less lighting and see if he opens up.

Leathers sometimes get ***** for no reason and act odd for days. My Devils Hand has looked beautiful for months then closes up for a few days then goes back to normal. He is also correct with possibly getting ready to shed as mine will close up for a day or so before shedding.

I’ve seen him close up this is different. He’s mostly open just seems like a wind blown tree if that makes any sense.

Leathers are very particular about their placement after they have been established in an aquarium. If moved. Some of them will perish due to the lack of flow, light, etc. I have lost a leather that way before. Some times they kind of shed their skin and do a molt every now and then and will be back in a couple days. IF the edges start to discolor then you will know if its not happy.
