Bought this leather a month ago. It has never fully opened but gets goosebumps all over it. The edges widen and shrink periodically but it just always looks bad. It wasn't extended in the store. The man said he was cleaning the tank and it had closed up earlier. Told me it's yellow and purple. The hole in the center keeps getting bigger as if it is splitting. The stem doesnt look good and flakes and even smoked today. Water parameters are good . 9dkh 0 nitrates 0 phosphates 1.025 salinity 79 temp 460 calcium . All my other corals are doing great and 2 other toadstool leathers extended. What is happening with this thing. Should I remove it?

I would try putting it in a higher flow and higher light.
I would also consider getting your nutrients up to detectable levels. No3 and po4 shouldn't be at a real zero. If your running gfo and or aggressive carbon you might want to stop.

I will try that thank you. This thinks looks like it is just rotting
yea its dying. I don't think is all the way gone.

My guess is (seeing a shroom there) It needs much more flow. It looks like its trying to do something...
