I won this in the auction Saturday. He came and I acclimated answer placed him high lighting yesterday. Today it looks mangled. Doesn’t smell so not sure it’s dying but definitely doesn’t look good any thoughts?

I’m pretty good with leathers, but I can’t ID this one. What type of leather is it?

I don’t think it needs high lighting. I would think low to moderate lighting.
Also what are your water peramwters and what lighting you use?

we will need A little more info to give a better answer.
Take care

This is a Solomon hairy leather from the fragtober auction. When it came it was in one piece. It never fully stood up but this new pic was this morning amd them I came home to the former pics

I got a kenya tree from wwc 2 days before the sale. It was deflated the first 24 hours and then standing tall the next morning. I would make sure your not nuking it with light and I would also check water quality.

Looks like a green Kenya tree? Your parameters look ok.

I would put it in low light and see if it recovers. I’ve never seen any of my leathers or Kenya trees look like your first pics. The one pick with it limo looking it still looks normal-ish but the first photos looks like it’s pretty unhappy and possiable a goner.

if it was me I would move it to low light asap, and keep fingers crosses-

good luck

Thanks I’ll try, if that’s the case then I don’t get what I paid for :(
I hope not. The one photo looks like it arrived ok, but something is seriously bothering it unfortunately. My guess with the info I have would be to much light- but im no expert lol.
I really hope it recovers For you, it looks like it would be a nice coral.
Good luck my friend.

Yes definitely lower light, possible sand bed. Med flow.

I believe this is nepthia. Moderate light and water flow.

Temp range 77-79

I used to have a neon kenya tree from unique and WWC is auctioning a hairy solomon. Are these the same. The neon kenya tree had a purple trunk I think with neon branches or tips of branches. I have been wanting to replace and I am participating in the auction since I did last week and they let me extend the shipping date so I could participate in this weeks with one shipping charge of 20. I am going to be much more selective tonight! LOL. Went a bit overboard last week and it all started because they had a neon stalked duncan! I paid 47 bucks for a single head!

Did you ever get an answer to this? I hear constantly about Kenya trees but not Solomon Hairy leathers. I have one of the latter that constantly buds off babies that float around and attach everywhere. I'd have 50 of them by now if I didn't keep pulling them out.
