Tank maintenance tonight and saw this on my leather after he got ticked at me being in the tank. He’s 9 years old this month.

Ph 8.18
Salinity 35.3
Dkh 9.6
Calcium 450
Magnesium 1325
Phosphate 0
Nitrate 0
Temp 78.2

90 gallon reef tank with 46” aquatic life pro series led lights, sump, reef octopus skimmer, live rock, flame angel, bicolor angel, 2 cardinals, hawkfish, diamond goby, Midas blenny, Kenya tree, frog spawn, flowerpot, yellow polyps, gsp and a couple bubbletip anemones. Most of these guys have been there the whole 9 years.

I wouldn't be surprised if You could just cut it out if wanted. Let's see what others say.
 
Oh wow. Everything else look good?? Low N and P would be a concern but if worse comes to worse, you can always cut it down and it will regrow a new head.
 
Could just be an area of fragmentation, pretty common in Sarcophyton. Could be an area where detritus is collecting. As long as you continue to see polyp extension I would not be concerned. Beautiful coral.
 
+ 1 for what @Tahoe61 Saïd ... ive had this on mine too , came from detritus ,it will heal ..I just made sure it was kept clean blowing it with a turkey baister!
