Hello all! I added a basic brown leather to my 50gal tank a week ago totally forgetting about the potential toxins. This leads into my list of questions Haha.

1) Will one 4in leather be enough to cause issues? (10% weekly WC min. GAC swapped monthly)
2) What are the telltale warning signs?

3) Will a skimmer pull some or all of the toxins out?

4) will GAC fill faster?

Thanks all! Have a great night

With one lil leather swapping out carbon monthly will suffice in keeping toxins down. Most of the toxins are within the leathers shed. So I like to manually remove the mucus when they do so it doesn't settle on other corals.

I run a cheap bag of carbon and swap it out every couple of months, have no issues with my other corals in my tank. I have a 6" toadstool that just dropped 8 pieces of its self and every one in the tank was fine.
I WC every 4 months ish, and only run carbon.
