Is it possible to keep sinularia leather in a system with phospate at 0.06?
My system used to hover around 0.1 and the leather was happy. Recently the system has been at 0.06 and the sinularia has been shriveled up for 2 weeks now. I know they can do that now and then but this has been too long.
Nothing else in the tank is unhappy. What do you think?

My guess is that it is either coincidence or the change, not the number. It will probably adapt, but someone more knowledgeable will probably chime in.

Leathers have a mind of their own... they adjust. Mine was closed for a couple days after adjusting lights, now its fine... Be patient with them , and one day it will open and you will never know why...

I have seen sinularia leathers in very poorly filtered and maintained tanks that were growing definitely not dying. This tank in particular was a 100 gallon tank that was being filtered by live rock alone that got no water changes and was over fed had a lot of the silver squares from the back of frozen foods in the substrate it was truly a No F’s given tank and there were a few things that had adapted and Were growing varieties of Leathers and polyps

I've had phosphates undetectable on hanna ulr checker for months on end, and my sinulara grow like weeds. Ive also had high phosphates and no problems. The only thing that bother mine are anenomes stinging them and even then they open back up the next day.

Do you think it could be due to stronger light reaching the leather due to the addition of carbon?
I forgot I added carbon about the same time I noticed it unhappy.
