leave in or take out filter socks on vacation

I am going away for Christmas and was wondering if I should leave in the filter socks or take out. Common sense answer seems to be take it out but what would you recommend. Thanks, Rich

How long will you be gone? I change my filter socks out weekly and have no issue with an extra day or two over

I am gone for 4 days. I thought on BRS they were showing after a day or so the nitrates start building up?

Depends on your bioload, I change mine out weekly and they don't look to bad. I only have 5 fish though in a 40 breeder.

Ok Maybe I will be fine. I have a reefer 250 with a 36 gallon sump with 4 fish.

I never use them, imo you should be fine without them for a week.
