Hello everyone,
I feel really stupid for asking this question, because conceptionally, I cannot see a problem with this but here it goes. I have to scrape my glass for algae every 2-3 days (tank is 10 months old). If I leave for 2 weeks, I already have an ATO setup, automatic feeder, etc, but I don't have a clear cut solution for cleaning my glass. Should I even worry about the glass? It shouldn't cause any problems with the fish, correct? I was thinking about the robosnail for the glass, or just have my brother come over and do it for me. Everything else is set up. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

If you don't have anyone clean the glass a) your snails will be well-fed and b) you'll probably have your work cut out for you when you get back. I've deliberately left mine for weeks (laziness as well as curiosity) with no ill effects other than a sore wrist after playing catchup.

The quick fix is to throw snails in there. I have six and they keep my glass spotless. Just research compatibility between the snails and what you have in the tank

I dread scraping glass after a few weeks.
My poor hands are so scared and beaten from the clownfish of left in the tank too long
With the build up on the glass . I can’t see the bugger coming in for the kill with his fangs out .

Tunze scrapers with the stainless steel blades make glass cleaning a breeze.

I left mine for 2 weeks and the build up was bad, but not hard to clean, just a fair bit of maintenance in the following week coming back as it can throw levels out.

Makes sense, thank you everyone. I'm gathering it might be a pain to clean, but it shouldn't present any danger to the fish/corals? Right?

Your tank will thank you for keeping your hands out of it all that time.
I think this effect has a lot to do with ph increasing due to less co2 in the air when you go on vacation.

This graph shows how my ph went up when i went on vacation until i asked someone to unplug my co2 scrubber

That makes sense, what without any humans in the home.
