I want too upgrade my red sea max 250 lights and i want to go to led but i dont know what to look at or for any advice would be great on brands.
I dont want to spend too much but im not looking at cheap anything between 80-120 :)

Thank you :)

So you don't want to spend too much but don't want cheap and have $100. Cheap is all you are going to get.

Mars Aqua LEDS will probably be within that price range. They get good reviews and most people's only criticism of them is that they are less controllable than more expensive ones. I've got three here waiting to be hung over my 120g 5 footer.

How long is the tank? Look at SB Reef Lights, good lights!

In a tank that size you need 2 16 in mars or 2 16 in sb's or 1 30 in. mars are all around 160 on the low low new sbs a bit higher and worth it. the low canopy might be a challenge you can mod the hood or look at bars or flat fixtures like the current orbit. i do 2 of those used still in the 200 range though.

I agree.

No problem! Not that I've seen, that link is just someone who had tested them at home I think. There's a good bit of info on the SB lights here: https://sbreeflights.com/content/7-faq
There's a wee comparison chart half way down the page that compares different lights in this kind of price range.

Thank you thats very helpful i will look more into these and theirs an offer on them on amazon so big thank you :)

No worries, I should have said they do a long 300w version which works out cheaper than buying two of the smaller 165w ones. They are on sale on Amazon prime in the UK just now too. That way you'd only need one and would work out cheaper. You'd need two of the smaller ones as they say they cover 2ft by 2ft. I only went for three small ones because I have two braces on top of my tank and want to avoid shadows as much as possible. Glad I could help!

How about OceanRevive T247-B? It is ideal for both fresh and marine aquatic applications, specialized for SPS/LPS/Soft corals and reef fish. It has a built-in controller controls TWO channels independently (blue and full spectrum channels) for both Time and Intensity. Also comes with both supporting brackets and hanging kits to fit any type of fish tank. You can find details through OR website:http://www.oceanrevivellc.com/goods.php?id=21. There are also good reviews that may help on amazon. The price is a little bit out of your range but it is totally worthy your money. Besides, there will be a promotion during Thanksgiving :)
