Led bar to attach to giesemann spectra

Hi reef2reef! I recently bought a giesemann spectra and would like to add a led bar to the fixture. Have any of you done this before? The fixture is really nice so I would like to keep the drilling to a minimum.

Both the reefbrite and orphek OR 3 come with mounting brackets to accomplish this

How did the LED bar work out for you? What method did you use to install them?

I bought a piece of aluminum and mounted them on each side of the spectra. It extends a little past the width of the fixture and that’s what I mount the orphek light bars to. It was actually pretty easy to do. I didn’t have to make any extra holes.
