led blues

OK, if you have just a few blue leds, then those are probably moonlights and you can leave them on. But if you have a fairly typical led fixture half to 2/3rds of the leds are blue and those you don't leave on. Some manufacturers install moonlights and some don't. The EverGrow D120 is a very basic fixture and doesn't have moonlights and the IT series all have 3 moonlights in each fixture. That said, there isn't any reason you couldn't turn down the power on a D120 fixture and leave all the blues on as dim as you can get them for a moonlight effect. But remembering to turn them up in the morning and down at night gets old after awhile.

What make and model of light fixture do you have?

It is tagged in another one of my posts but I can't tag the page right now from my phone but is it just a basic FOWLR light with 4 blues and 32 whites

If its only 4 Blues, I'd say those are Moon lights. I only leave mine on for a few hours after the main lithgin goes off. Few hours before lights on, and a few after.

I would never run blue lights as any sort of 'moonlight'. Corals use blue light to set their circadian rhythms, and in addition, the moon reflects almost zero blue light, nearly exclusively red, which incidentally, fish and invertebrates sometimes can't really even see.

Interesting. As every Light fixture you get has Blue LEDs as a moon light (most, some will use the whites, not many.), wether its T-5, Halides or even the LED fixtures utilize them.

Also some folks like black bar soldier are nighttime prowlers. I've read about some places suggesting leaving a bit of night light. And to be perfectly clear.....diving at night there was always some moonlight making it quite a few feet down. That said....my moon lights are out at 11pm. Just because....
