I am kind of wanting to build an LED system for my future 40B instead of metal halides. So here are some questions I have:
A 30" long heatsink from heatsinkUSA would be ok right?
As for LED's, I was thinking about 3 rows of 13. Alternating between white and blue. So i would have 20 whites and 19 blues. Would this be enough for the tank? 36" long and 18" front 2 back.
I am going to use these whites: Cree® X-RE Q4 Star - LED Supply.com . As for blues; Should I get regular blue or royal blue? I think I will get them from ledsupply.com. Anyone have experience with them? LED's These will be good enough for SPS and clams right? Just checking lol.
For the drivers, should I get a wired buckpuck? Should I get 350, 500, 700, or 1000mA? and how many of each? I would like to have the dimming effect. Should I get them with pot or without?
Which Power Supply should I get out of those 4?
