hi everyone, i am as new as you can get with an aquarium and i just set up a Red sea max C130. I am looking to swap out the existing t5 lights for LED's and am wondering if anyone has done this or know of an easy way to do it. thanks!

Yea. Rapid is probably the easiest to keep the look of the tank.

thanks guys, i just went on Rapid LED and it looks like they only make a kit for the Max 250 not the Max 130, im going to take the T5's out and the reflector and see if i can fit 2 square LED fixtures in there if theres room then put the clear panel back on. any thoughts on that idea?

It's a fine idea.

Keep in mind it may not be an exact match but they do work. It's just different par. That's just one of the turn key diy setups. So it'll depend on your diy skills
Next step up would likely be look at reef led. Com for diy. https://reefledlights.com/nano-tank-led-retrofit/

Next is full turnkey. http://nanoboxreef.com/

And yes. You'll want to keep the splash shield.

thanks @saltyfilmfolks that nano box duo plus M looks like it would work great, a little pricey though haha. to install that i would just remove existing t5 lights and reflector and just mount somehow right in that space right?

Yep. It's all about the budget

And yes. Pull the old stuff out and stick the new stuff in.

how did it work out? what size did you have and how easy was the install? light was bright as well? thanks!

It was very easy to install, never did any actual par reading but visually it was very bright. It was on a biocube 14
