LED diode help from a DIYer

I need help finding a place online to buy this exact LED diode.

Heres what I know about the PCB board it will be soldered to:

* 5watt diode
* somewhere in the 450nm range

* its driven by a RoHS power supply: 70watt 550mA 60-100volt dimmable power supply driving 30 (thirty) LEDs

Can a DIYer please help me find these LEDs as a few have burned out, easy replacement soldering job if I have the correct one. I reached out to the Mfgr snd they are NOOO help at all

It’s gonna be hard to find the exact part without knowing what it is ahead of time. Unfortunately LED manufacturers don’t put much information on them (there just isn’t room generally). That does look to be a standard footprint though so you should be able to find replacement parts nonetheless.

Since you know the frequency of light you want you can select what works for you that is around 2 W and 550mA.
 
Why do you think it's 5 watts?

I ordered all my LED's out of China....takes 3 or 4 weeks.

Now if what you have are 3 watts, HERE are the 453 nm LED beads I used in my rebuilds.

Bc i THOUGHT the light is rated at 300w and has 60 LEDs.... is my math wrong? 5w x 60 diodes = 300watts ???

But the TWO power supplies max out at 70w each...marked right on both power supplies

I'm confused as heck..

I know EACH CHANNEL is powered by 70w, 500mA, dimmable btwn 60v-100v.

Can someone HELP me with the MATH given each power supply is 70w at 550mA???

I'm certainly no electrical genius, so that is why I'm asking @Brew12 to check this out. My simplified little brain tells me that a 70 watt driver running 30 leds, (70 / 30 = 2.3 watts), you have 3 watt LEDs. Now if you have fans also running off that power supply, those LEDs are more at 2.1 or so watts.

If they sold these as 300 watts, and since watts are additive, when I add up 70 + 70, I get 140 watts. Where are the extra watts coming from? Now, that said, what has become common place with LEDs is that they take the so-called maximum watt rating of the LED and multiply that times the number of LEDs. So if they are 3 watt LED's and you have 60, I'd expect this to be advertised as a 180 watt fixture.

Again, I don't know what I'm talking about....so let @Brew12 throw in his two cents.

You got this absolutely correct. Many LED manufacturers list the total watts of LED's installed, not the maximum power the light can use.

WHERE'S a good place online to buy 3watt diodes that's U.S. based?

Ebay has many vendors but they a lot of them ship out of China and it takes 4 weeks to get delivery

It sounds like any LED three watts or less with a current rating of at least 550mA would work. Try this listing here:

They're US stock so the shipping shouldn't take weeks. Just choose 3W, no PCB, and the color you want, and you should be in business.

It could be a 5W LED that is run at less than 50% power. Stranger things have happened.

Based on my research some time ago when I was just looking into modding my Mars Aquas, I'm trying to remember if 3w and 5w diodes have same foot print. I think they do.
 
Actually this additional talk brought back memories of 3 versus 5 watt LED's. They could have the same footprint, however, every 5 watt LED I've seen has either 2 or 4 "chips" within the lens. The 3 watt LED's I've seen only have the one chip. The picture the OP supplied above clearly shows one chip in the lens. Those are 3 watt LED's and as far as I'm concerned this manufacturer is using false advertising representing these fixtures as 300 watts.
