Led for a 29 gallon biocube

If you're looking to save on $$ look at the Taotronics 120w Dimmable. If you don't care about controlling them that is. I have one over my Biocube and everything in reading says they'll allow you to grow any type of coral you want. Here's how I have mine setup currently.

i got a kessil a150w ocean blue and goose neck off ebay for $125. if money wasn't a worry id probably go a160, hydra 26 or xr15. No complaints about the kessil though and corals are responding very well.

The 165w black box fixtures are probably a better choice than the 120. You can always dial the intensity down if you need less light. Most of them have a better color mix than the 120's. The corals may not benefit from the reds and greens but the viewer will.

What lights r u talking about

There are several different manufacturers on ebay or amazon that make the 165's. They are the cheap Chinese imports so choose by cost and type(colors) for what you think will work best.

, is there any that you recommend or are they pretty much all the same

I have several of the galaxy hydro I purchased on amazon for $106 each. Here's one on a corner tank. I can't comment on lifespan but they're cheap enough to keep a spare on the shelf and I can say the corals and macros will grow under them. As with any light always acclimate corals to reduced light until they can handle more intensity. The picture is with both lighting channels at 100% and I like the fact that they bring out all colors while making them look natural.

I only went with the 120w because I only wanted blues and whites. I love the look of my tank with the lights on.
