I'm working on a scrubber that will be in a clear acrylic box. Then I found these grow light strips 60w total supposedly that I might wrap the box in.

I usually like 1w led chips for a scrubber but I cant find something that will work.

I've used those before and they worked fine for a chaeto reactor I had. I had them on the outside of a plastic reactor and in no way touching the water. Just keep in mind that they get very warm and they're not 100% water proof..

I was wondering how hot they got. I might need to look at something else then.

They got warm enough to show some stress cracks in the plastic after about a year of use. But I think I packed the loops too tight and too close together. If you allow space for heat distribution and don't have them with too much direct contact with the plastic you should be good to go. Just make sure to inspect the LEDs and plastic periodically.

I was going to wrap the acrylic box with them. Good thing I asked
