So I bought this made in china Tao Tronics fixture with the 120W 55 3w LED's. 26 whites 12K, 26 royal blue bulbs 460 nm's and 3 lunar bulbs @450 nm's. Anyways, I bought it to use on my 29gal nano. This being my first LED experience I totally screwed it up. I placed it just above the water line (open tank) on 100%. Fried all my LPS frags and massive biotome explosion. I have since raised the light fixture to approx 16" above water and have it on a 24 hour setting simulating mother nature reaching full exposure for three hours mid day only at 15% blue and 15% whites. Someone else said this fixture was over kill for such a small tank. Please give recommendations on outputs and height above the tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even the recommended % and time exposure to the best of your knowledge. Thanks

I agree with the overkill comment, but you should be able to run it 15-20% 8-10 in above the water. Since the damage is already done your going to run it dim and high until the corals recover. I would also target feed those corals more often until they are better.

I had an aquamana china led for a while and it was pretty strong never ran the whites over 30% and the blues I ran at 60% 12 inches above the water line. Had a timer with multiple programs ran the blues 10hrs and the whites clicked on for 4hrs. Sorry about your corals

I had one on a NC24 about 16" above the water line. The blues were running at 75% for 9 hrs and the whites at 25 % for 7 hrs.

Not overkill. You did no acclimate your corals to the new light. Should have started out at 10% on the power.
