So Im not sure if this is doable or not. I thought I'd ask people who know more than me. Is it possible to have someone replace the Leds in my 36" ReefBrite strip with all 420NM leds and wide lenses?

Any help would be appreciated

Sure, should be able to do that with no problems. You would just have to find the right leds.

Na, most would be 12v. I mean the correct wattage for that system set up. The power supply is only meant to support a certain wattage.

I See, Are There Any Companies That CaN/will Do Those modifications

Ok, did a bit more in depth looking at them. They appear to utilize 3w LEDs, you should be fine soldering in new LEDs.

So can I just remove the current LEDs and replace them with 3w Leds in the colors I want

Yup, looks that way to me. If your good with a solder gun. You may need some thermal glue to keep them in place, as your probably not going to get an exact match for the ones that are on there.

No problem, I'll send them right over..... When will they be ready?

So where is the best place to get help for something like this?

For having someone replace LEDs for you? You'd have to check for that locally I would think.

Hmm that is not a hopeful prospect. More than a decade ago I actually taught a solder repair class. Im sure replacing an LED isnt that diificult, I dont really know where to get the stuff, Im guessing there is probably even a youtube on how to replace an LED.

Maybe I should buy a soldering iron.... what store would you use to help you decide what LED's

Im the cheap LED buyer, I'd find one that was used in other units, such as the BridgeLux. But others would tell you to get Cree LED.

As far as I can tell, cree doesnt make a 410-420nm.

Who makes the best actinic LED? Would that be the Bridgelux?
