Do coral need the white leds to grow? I have 2 programmable full spectrum leds they are 120 watts a piece, on a 90 gal tank. What would be the best %s for growth. I like the look of 100% actinic and 10% white, is this enough white for good growth? I already made the mistake of bleaching and I am afraid to do it again. Can anyone help! Thanks

I ran my tank with 50% blues only for 4wks and it didn't faze my corals at all. I'm keeping all LPS & 1 SPS Birds Nest.
Now I run whites at 30% max and blues 50% max. Thinking of turning the whites down to 20-25 :)

There has been no real difference in my corals with or without the whites. But to my eye they look more washed out with the white lights on.

From my experience you get better growth and color from the 450ish nm spectrum (blue) than white. I just dilute the blue with white during the day for esthetics.

I run 2 of the eBay full spec leds on.my 90. I run blues 100% and the whites abt 60-70%. I have mixed reef from acros to mushrooms. Everything doing great.
