Hey again,

So, I am wanting to buy some LED coral lighting. I would really like something that I can program the white and blue, as well as timing. If I cant do that for cheap then something with a mix of white and blue, no programming and I'll throw a timer on it. I want to start with LPS corals and maybe add one or two acropora in the future because they are really beautiful.

The problem is I can't put a massive amount of money into the lights. I understand that you get what you pay for, but is it possible to buy more than one cheaper lights or maybe some smaller target lights?

What lights do you'll reccomend for a decent price, and is it possible to have different sides of my tank lit with different lights? I believe my tank is 48inches, standard 55 gallon.

I was on a tight budget for lights also. I ended up going with SB reef lights basic 16" (3 of them). So far I am happy with them. Just bought cheap wall timers to put them on, has worked well so far.

I have the orbit marine pro Reef lights. Paid about 300. I love it, totally programmable with ramp up and down times. I keep all lps which are thriving :)

Desgada,

Look at used equipment. there are several used LED systems that will work for what you are wanting to do. I have one for sale, that would work well for you. it is programmable for 3 channels and covers your tank dimensions. It is listed in the for sale section. PM me if you want more details.

Bottom line though. look for 3 watt LEDS or better. Quality LEDS. There are numerous brands out there. Reef Radiance, Ocean Revive SB reef etc... Spend cash here. trust me.

Hey has anyone tried jbj
Orion fixtures I'm upgrading to a 48" and like most will be stretched at time of build, 500 for a 48" fixture sounds good to me
