What are your thoughts on this LED layout. Will it produce a pink hue with 8 reds? (4-630's and 4-660's)

channel 1; 16 7500k cool whites, 8 3500k warm whites 4 480nm blues, 4 520nm greens, 4 630nm red, 4 660nm reds, and 8 410-420nm violets.
Cha
nnel 2; 48 450nm royal blue,
Channel 3; 3 480nm blue moonlights, for a total of 99 3 watt LEDs

If your going to toss in some reds and greens I would skip the 3500K as they dont grow as well as the 7.5K at least if they are Cree XT-E. A couple Warm Whites with out optics are good for tweaking the look towards the warmer side.

Your 450nm is the Primary Grow Spectrum everything else is for looks. If you go too warm you may promote nuisance algae.

The Violet 410nm are about as bright as a TSA agent. I would add more say 12 for every 24" otherwise you will not notice them. If your using the Semi P2N-U the max Vf is 4.4, so you would need a driver with more forward Vf than 48.

I have a 10' long tank and 12 XP-E Reds @ 700mA are more than enough to highlight those pigments. I have 4 on my 72" long SPS and think that is about perfect. Most Radion users really dial these back.

What type of LEDs are you using? The 5 watt Cree XT-E Driven at 700mA are very efficient and based on our PAR Testing are about 40% more efficient than the 3 watt Bridgelux.

So I took out the the 4 630's and left the 4 660's. I added 4 more 410 so total of 12 now. I took out 4 of the 3500k and added 4 7500K
Channel 1; 20 7500k cool whites, 4 3500k warm whites 4 480nm blues, 4 520nm greens, 4 660nm reds, and 12 410-420nm violets.
Channel 2; 48 450nm royal blue
Channel 3; 3 480nm blue moonlights
total of 99 3 watt LEDs
Thoughts?

That should give you a real nice look. Especially if you put each colour on its own dimmable channel.

If you can try to choose a the bin of the Royal Blue as close to 450nm as you can for the best colour pop.

As an Airline Captain I could write a book on some of the things I've seen TSA do.

@reefled

10 yrs in the fire service and still in law enforcement...I can understand that. I was at a trade conference few years back and talked to someone who said in retirement he was writing a book of stories collected from firefighters, police officers and paramedics/emts...working title "You cant make this crap up, and if you did it wouldnt be nearly as funny"
