I am redoing my layout for my Evergrow IT2080 fixtures. This is my new layout. Should I replace some of the whites with the 65k or this fine? I am going for an 17-20k look.

I am assuming that the white square that you have are the spots for your white leds and just to give you some info whites are not 12K, 14K and 20K. The only whites that I know of are warm white which is 2600-3700K range, neutral white which is 3700-5000K range and cool whites which are 5000-8000K range. I would run a mixture of these but would put in more of the cool whites than the other 2. I hope you are looking for a pretty blue look as that is a lot of blue to white ratio. I run about a 50/50 mixture of blue and white with 2 red and 2 green and 3 uv's which gives me about a 10-12 K total look when all are fully on then I run just blue side for dusk/dawn.

I'd love to try out that layout. My IT2080's are about 3:2 blue to white and in order to get even a little blue I run them at 90% blue and 50% white. With all the blue you have, you'll be at 100% white and some big number (like 70%) blue and have a 14K. So getting to 17K to 20K shouldn't be a problem. Let me know how these turn out for you.

I have 65k and 10k on my layout right now but wanted to try something different with the other white temperatures. If you had take 1 kind of white out from my new layout to replace with 65k, which one would you take out?

i love the blue look and keeping my lights at full 100% gives me a 16kish look right now but i keep it at 90% blues and 60% whites. i love the blue look and since my tank is zoa dominant, more blue is better for me.

I would take out which ever you have the least of in your fixture because the lower the K on the white the more yellow it becomes. In mine I just put 2 in the warm white range in each fixture which were pretty yellow at 2600-3700K range anything higher than that K range and it will be more pure white. I have more of an sps mixed reef so I like the look of more like sunlit/daylight look and it gives the sps another spectrum and they seem to grow pretty fast under them and have not lost any color or browned out. I have attached some pics of the tank with all lights on and I run a 2 hour dusk/dawn that are only the blues on there are 7 different led fixtures over the tank, but all have the exact same led configuration.

I am thinking of replacing the 12k in the layout I posted above with the 6500k whites. I really can't decide completely between swapping out the 14k or 12k for the 6500k. What do you think?

Your tank looks great but I like my tank to be more blue. I just personally like a bluer look and I know the 20k whites have a bluish hint to them so that will help with the blue look too.

I would just swap the 12K for them as there are only 4 in you diagram so as to not add too much yellow/white to your desired color. On my tank there is 4 hours of full blue as I do this to create a dusk/dawn cycle and also I can enjoy the tank with just a blue spectrum on to watch things glow and look different! Good luck with your build and post some finished pictures.
