Have been researching LED builds for a while and finally got all the parts together. This will be for a 46 gallon bowfront that has been running for a little over 1 - 1/2 years with 192 watts of power compacts.

LED light setup

2 - 7.29" x 13" heat sinks (heatsink supply)
24 CREE royal blue LEDs (nanotuners)
24 CREE XP-G R5 bin (cutter)
48 Berquist thermal pads (nanotuners)
4 - Meanwell ELN-60-48D drivers (nanotuners)

Layout on the heat sinks is shown below

nice do far love the royal blues
Gonna put optics on them??
Will multiply your light like a mini MH reflector :)
the aqua illuminations has these cool little cone reflectors!

Hey myteemouse, not planning on optics since it will be mounted close to the water. Spacing is 1.75" between the horizontal rows and 2" between the vertical. The 46 is a fairly shallow tank.

Yes, doing two of the heat sinks, one for each side. of the middle brace on the tank.

very cool let us know how it all work's out jtl2 and there is a guy on manhattan reef's that did the same he had a post up today just to let you know. i cant be any help but if you have some problem's you could check him out. and by the way i need 2 of them say 2inch by 72 inch long to add to my canopy when i get it built

Still seeing spots even with the Meanwell SRV2 turned down and the dimmer turned down.

How about this for a 0-10VDC supply for the dimmer PCB, transformer, lm317, potentiometer, etc...works as intended. You can see how far back it was dialed from 10vdc.

Well, LEDs are up and running now, still want to add quick disconnects to the fixture and a top panel, but those can wait. Also, will add a couple of ammeters to allow fine tuning the color. The shimmer is fantastic with the LEDs, pictures don't do them justice.

that looks pretty nice.. a bit purple though.. are u planning to try sps on that bad boy?

It doesn't look purple in person, probably color balance issues on the photos. The zoa photo looks pretty white to me, while the frogspawn shot is pretty close, the whole tank shot seems to be a little off color wise. I've got some easy SPS in their now along with a clam (for a little over 1 - 1/2 years now). May try a couple of other pieces of SPS down the road.
