How’s it going guys? Ever since i started my reef tank about 2 years ago, i have had my light intensity on the little knob set to “20” on the blue led over my 20 gallon tank. I was just wondering if this was correct intensity or how does one know? I have attached a picture so you guys know what i am talking about. I have a galaxy hydro led light. I have just never moved the knob.

The thing to remember with these lights is they are a powerhouse of focused light. If you've had it at 20 percent and everything has been growing and doing fine, I wouldnt mess with it :)

So you always run just the 20 blue and zero white? I'd suggest you might get better color in the corals (not better fluorescence, but better color) if you added a touch of white. Maybe just turn the white led knob until the white leds light up and leave it there.

Does this fixture have 1 or 2 power cords? I'm thinking/wondering if you might keep the blue and just add the white for a shorter time frame if you can control them with 2 power cords.

I assume your 20g tank is shallow (like 12" to 16")?

What are you keeping in the tank?

I used to work for a couple of led fixture suppliers and worked with a manufacturer in China. Lighting has been an area of intense interest to me.
