So I'm taking on Green Hair Algae. I've got AF Phosphate Minus in a reactor, will increase water changes slightly and are dosing with Vibrant.

I'm also looking to reduce the light. I currently cover the tank when the lights are off. But they're on for about 10 hours a day using a Hydra 26.

I believe you want less white and more blue light but how long should the lights be on for without effecting coral? - should I wind it back to 4 or 6 hours?

In the same boat as you except the Prime 16HDs. I just added a bunch of snails and throttled back the whites. 0 reds and 0 greens. UV/V are on 90% and RB/B are on 80%. Whites are on 10%. I wouldn't necessarily change the photo period, I would maybe just make the lights 5-10% lower to reduce the energy for the GHA.

What is in the tank? LPS, Softies, Zoas, SPS? Might change how you respond to things.

One thing not to do is make changes very day. Just let things run its course for a week and then you can adjust accordingly every 7ish days

My regiment to overcome GHA algae recently went something like this.
30% water change 3 days in a row
manual removal
reduced feeding to every other day (Rod's) I'm back to feeding daily small amounts
GFO,Carbon,Purigen mixture in a reactor
added a good sized additon to the clean up crew focusing on diversity
stict 25%-30% wwc
Did a 48 hour lights off
Dialed my whites back about 10-20%-red and green to 0% left my blues and UJV alone (kessil 360x) cahnged photoperiod to 8hours
Turned lights back on following a week long acclimation program from 10% intensity ( idk if it really helped I think it did though) Lights are back to normal setting and on 11hour ramp up ramp down 2 of which are blues at 1% intensity as a soft start up and to simulate a little moonlight in the evening
