LED light settings

Super new to the reef tank world. I have a waterbox 130 and I’m trying to figure out how to set the lights for color and timing. Suggestions?

There's no direct answer to your question. So instead, I'm going to recommend you watch the BRSTV 52 Weeks of Reefing on Youtube. They have some episodes on Lighting.

Lighting for LEDs is pretty specific by make, model and use. Each make and model has its own number of LEDs of X strength and Y variety of wavelengths and often A,B,C,D, number of LEDs. So it requires a knowledge of spectrum, power and number of LEDs to know how high to turn up each spectral group and how high to hang them and how long to have them on. Fortunately, sites like BRS you tube videos have recommendations for most of the major brands of LEDs out there. If you have a generic model, you will probably need to contact your manufacture. But even on those, you might be able to find some you tube videos with lighting recommendations. I watched the BRS video on my AI fixtures and followed their recommendations pretty closely.

Now, if you are not growing photosynthetic corals, you can get by fine with just whatever looks good to you. You need to supply a photosynthetic spectrum for LPS corals but it does not have to be that powerful. LPS are pretty forgiving. If you are trying to raise Acropora, you need a fair bit of light and of the right duration and a good spectrum.
