Here is the light. Its LED and stretched across my tank. It's made by fluval. I know nothing about it except it doesn't work. The power supplies(transformer) went out. Had 2 and both went out it seems.
I need some good inexpensive lighting solutions for this tank. Like it to be timered so I can not have to worry about it. Thanks in advance.

What are you planning on stocking your tank with? Softies, pls, sps?

Hammers, Duncan's, anemones, candy canes, bubble coral, frog spawn, and clams. I guess those are soft corals? I also have some polyps, and zoas.

I have an aquatic life t5/mh/led lunars light im selling... thing is a beast though... so im sure it would cost alot to ship

What are the specs on the Fluval lights? If you're on a budget, I'd suggest two 165W black box fixtures....and you want timer control...so something like THIS.

Tank is 4' 1/4" wide by 18" deep. So I'm guessing it needs to be the same length?

What I can find is that it isn't a timered light. Let me go get the specs.

Think most of what you want wont require a lot of light other than the nems and clams

Main question is what is your budget? Would be more costly in the long run if you buy something inadequate or that doesn't last and have to replace it

I have four of those lights I’m not using from my old tank. Two things you can do, petco can swap them out and or I can send one to you. They are amazing lights as long as you have the WiFi controller with it. If not that light may drive you crazy with the touch button.

I do have the wifi controller. Doesn't look real good though. May not work either. How much do you want to let one go for and will just this light be enough for corals and fish?

The reason I asked for the specs is that these types of fixtures typically come with a whole bunch of very low powered LEDs.....great for a fish-only tank, but not good for hard corals, clams and anemones, which are of interest. I'd still recommend replacing with two Black Box LED.....not timed, around $100 each, timed, around $120 - $130 each.

Top is transformer and bottom is light. Fluval wants $54 for the transformer.

If timer is a limiting factor you can easily use wemo switches. They work great for lighting. Can set schedules and manually control light right from your phone.

I should have an extra WiFi controller also, but not positive and power supply. I wouldn’t charge for them, I do it to be nice. Also not sure where @redfishbluefish info is but as long as you do not place these on a tank larger than a 125 you can grow anything including sps. The lights work extremely well. Here are pics of my 125 with just two of those fluvals.

You have two different model numbers......

Model 3992....specs found HERE

First off, it's being sold as FRESHWATER only....so right off the bat, it's not for your tank....very white light.

So not only is it not for saltwater, but as suspected, this fixture contains 356 LEDs, at 59 W. Assuming all 59 watts goes to the LED's, that's less than 0.17W/LED....very weak LED's with poor penetration.

Now the Model 3995....specs found HERE.

A "Marine" led, so that's a good start......but, same deal, 356 LED's at 59 Watts....too weak.

The A3992d is the transformer. Not the light.
