Ive had these on my tank for several years now.. SPS and zoas love it.. Most of my chalices, scolys and acans need to be placed in the shade.. The one thing I dislike about these leds is there power.. I have never gone past 70 blues 45 white.. My lights are 14 inches above the water and my tank is 30 inches deep.. I do grow sps on the sand.. I came from mh lighting and I have two other tanks w t5's... I always tell everyone if t5's are a 10 out of 10, leds are an 8..
some sps do morph under leds, a couple actually morphed into nicer colored sps, so I guess you never know.
So my reason for this thread, what tricks or methods have worked for you? I even have montis that cant be placed too high,, Yet my og mummy eye colony that 7 inches plus is 5 inches in direct light and loves it.
I also made my strong lighting from 230-630.... my lights go on at 7am (very low light) until 11pm.. The tank is in the middle of my house.
