I am debating about up grading my lights. And do a new reflector for my MH and use LED for color comp. Or go strictly LED. And if so what LED would give me the best coverage for my shape tank. Right now i have a 175 MH and VHO retro fit with hardly any kind of reflector just a sheet behind the lights with a lil 45* lip on both ends.

I had a real problem with lights on mine before i switched to LED's. I built a fixture to house them in and then put two larger heat sinks with 24 bulbs total all Crees, Blue, Royal Blue and White on two drivers. I have not one complaint with the system. Nothing fried and EVERYTHING is growing including my sps.

I have a single ai sol all lenses switched to 70 deg optics. 12" awl. Looks great. I used a conduit pipe to mount the lamp.

Huuta what's your lighting schedule? I'm kind of in a rutt with my 54 corner. Not too sure what to keep my schedule at for best colors and growth

For op here's what I did. I plan on painting the conduit black. It was cheap and the simplest thing I could come up with for this corner bow. :-)

myclang, what do you use to clean your glass? I used a magfloat at first and it scratched my glass badly, and it was not because of medium being stuck in it. Im stuck using MrClean magic erasers right now, they work good but its ALOT of manual labor. Not to mention my hand in the tank for extended period of time once or twice every few weeks.

start at 11am and rev up to 65% over 4 hours and then rev down to 20% over another 4 hours. From 7-10 all blue then lights out.You would want to start off lower and max out your % much lower as to acclimate your corals to the led

I use a mag float for touch ups but I do use a extended handle with a pad, also has sifter for the sand and scrapper. Got it off BRS. ONCE in a whole ill use a normal pad and use some good ol' elbow grease. :D

Huuta, I ramp my lights to 65% as well. Someone said the sols are equivalent to a 250w halidevat 100% so I was curious if I should keep going up.

nice ill have to look into it, seem elbow grease works the best for me haha :) the coraline, which is FINALLY growing like crazy is harrrrrd to get off

I'm letting the coraline grown on the back overflow. I had a really hard time getting it to grow too. Big issue was too many nutrients which caused high phosphates. Gfo and boom coraline. Just not sure if I should be working on getting those leds to 100%

I have one radion over my 54 corner and am perfectly happy with coverage for a mixed reef. I'd throw a second over it if I were going full sps.
