LED lighting help on Reefer 170

Hello,

From what I have been told they are adjustable and mount to the tank like the average joe stand. @Brew12 he has these lights as well and I think he mounts them. There is also supposedly a newer one coming out soon. If you search here under mitras ghl x7 there are pics of it and also parts list and instructions for a diy version that is way better than ones you can buy. Even mitras asked what parts he used and listed them. For newer leds out, the mitras are far above anything I have seen or tested, used. There also is a new current high powered light coming out, but I don’t know the release date. From current and others, it will be twice as powerful as the 60 degree marine orbit pros, Bluetooth and will run in the same category as the new mitras x7.
I built a hanging rack for my 3 Mitras units. On a 170 you wouldn't have the display facing the front, you would want it sideways.

I will caution you that if you are a fan of the heavy blues that some people like, the Mitras aren't for you. They are definitely tuned to people who prefer whiter lit tanks.

I suppose I prefer more of a full spectrum look over the super blue 20k

Kessil would probably be the go to choice for that look ... am I right?

Most led lights let you adjust the channels. My hydra26hd can be pretty full spectrum if you jack up the white leds.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped with info on this thread ....
In a moment of indecision I just ordered 1 of each of my top 3 lights to test ... orphek Atlantik compact / mitra lx7 / xr30 pro
I will post pics of the decision on my new setup post

Make sure you come back and update us all :-)

20in wide? Mine is 23.5in wide.
Hmmm you could be right but there’s two models of the 170 one that has a sump integrated into the back glass and the 170 which has a sump below the tank, I’m pretty sure the website specs would be correct but I can measure when I get home, my model has the sump below, but not sure about @Jason Magee?

If you had a par meter it would be great to see what the verdict is too! Subscribed!

Mine is the Red Sea reefer. It has a sump below. Definitely 23.5in per my tape measure.
