I’m struggling finding a quality LED light that can grow coral in a mixed reef tank. I have a canopy but I only have 6 inches from the canopy to the water. One option would be to remove canopy all together and mount lights above. But my wife isn’t much on not having the canopy since it’s in our living room. Any Ideas?

Get some Chinese black boxes. Not super long lived, but not expensive either. Most of them that you have heard of can do a mixed reef - EverGro, Mars, etc.

You will need to keep the canopy dry and move the humid air out to have long term success with LEDs in this environment - most are not made to be placed into a canopy.

I have LEDs in a canopy, However due to the directional nature of LEDs i would recommend that you stay away from panel or puck style LEDS in such tight canopy and go with something like a kessil A360X, that perform better closer to the surface of the water. Just watch out for water splashing.
