Ok so I know under moonlight, corals such as mushrooms etc can go florescent green in color.

But are they suppose to do this under normal led day lights?

I recently changed my lights from t5 to one led par38 bulb but my corals all seem to be acting like its a night light. Can anyone help?

The light is a lot brighter then this picture can make out

I think your LED has more blue, that is why the fluorescent colors are popping.

Yes it has 6 blue - 3 white - 1 green - 1 red and 1 uv.

Will this be ok for corals? And does it matter that it has more blue? Thanks for your reply.

You might want to check the intensity of the light, when you change from a T5 to a LED sometimes the led's are to intense and can bleach out the coral. I have just changed from MH to LEDs and I have my leds at 40% and will slowly increase this over the next few months.

Unfortunately my LEDs can not be dimmed so I have just put them as high as possible atm.

It's a 36w 10000k full spectrum

Maybe I'm just not used to seeing my corals pop so much under the new light.

I guess Il just have to wait and see how the corals react to it having so many blues in it.

If you are going from t-5 to leds you want to acclimate your corals to new lighting. If it is not dimmable you can decrease the photo period and each week increase a little at a time and see how corals respond.

Another way to acclimate to the new lighting is to use mesh screen (like window screen). You put several layers on the top of the tank and remove a layer each week.
