LED Lighting suggestions.

Welcome to R2R!

Honestly there are several great companies and brands that will be sufficient. Also depends on price you want to pay and the options you want.

Companies off the top of my head are:

Apollo Reef Led
Aqua Illumination
Ecotech Marine
Evolution LED
Maxspect
Ocean Revive
Orphek
Reef LED
Reef Breeders LED
Reef Radiance

BTW my list are all sponsors of our community! ;)

I would check out the Reef radiance lumentec pro lights. They are fully programmable and have a variety of colors.

I like the reef breeders value line, as I am a fan on nutural white over cool white LEDs I would already have one but my bow front tank has a large black plastic brace down the middle.

I am currently reviewing LED options where I can have the light sources offset right and left from the center. Since I am going to have to replace the factory top/hood with a DIY screen I am considering expanding that project to include a full hood. At that point I have several options including using a 2x96 watt PC retrofit kit, since it will fit the unusual 34.5" opening on my 36" bow front tank.

Also consider Rapidled.com. They are great for the person wanting to do more of a DIY thing.

I have ordered an orphek atlantik v2 wifi patiently waiting for it to arrive :) but there are many options available and the ones in the list are great choices to start from it all depends on your budget.

I'm not hi-jacking this thread but I too, have a similar question:

I have the same 46 gal bow front but also a 72 gal bow front. My 46 gal will be a FOWLR with 4,(because I have them) 8 watt Marine Innovations SKYYE clamp-ons.
The 72 gal I have yet to decide upon for LED lighting. My proposed architecture is an aragonite sand bed 4" to 6" in depth. I am using approximately 100lbs of recycled live rock, fully dried BUT NOT YET CURED. This came from a system torn down over 2 years ago,(and stored damp in cardboard boxes). I have MH's and VHO's from previous systems but want to upgrade to a better economic, ($$) light source.
As far as livestock, I've never maintained SPS, focusing instead on LPS and actinodiscus, star polyps, etc. Also, I've not had an active system for over 10 years. So you can see, LED's are somewhat of a mystery to me. I am on a very strict budget so $500+ lighting fixtures are outside my realm, financially.
I can start out with what I have on hand but would really like input on what may be out there for less money.

thanks!

I'm running ReefBreeders on a 100 reef, and I couldn't be happier with both LPS & SPS growth that I've had. Everything is doing great!

Great list(ing). Obviously for many, it comes down to dollars and budgets and even spouses LOL

I would look at the Reef radiance lumentec pro240. It's around 400.00

I agree. Ihave the 240 and with the quality, full spectrum bulbs, silent fans and fully adjustable dawn to dusk programing etc....for $400, you can't get any better.

Im puzzled while on this subject. I have a Pair of$330 EcoRays and wished they had the dimmers. So , I went on ebay, saw dimmable units that were Chinese persay and I bid on one and won it a $97 Shipped. Hmmmmm.
I received it last week and installed it yesterday, and the corals are twice the size, twice the color and the effects throughout the tank are amazing !!! I will likely buy another so I have a Matched pair.

You got a good deal! Bet you they are Bridgelux? I have Cree and I think my Bridgelux were better, more pleasing to my corals!!! So if I had to say which were better,,,,, Bridgelux all the way
