Want to move from halides to leds. D'ont want to bleach out corals, yet want to a lso be able to grow corals on the bottom. Running a 125 reef and will be moving up to 180 gal. Soon need some advice, thanks joehump

You'll just need to start the LEDs off really low, and move the intensity up slowly til the corals respond the way you like.

I have looked at aquaillumination & eco-tech, but i would just as soon wait till later with these, as not experienced yet with leds. Any advice on any other leds that don't cost as much but will get the job done. Willing to spend the money on them, just not as much as the high end cree stuff costs, thanks for all the help

As I always ask what is the budget for lighting?
Cost upfront is big but savings is even bigger
I am now in the process of upgrading from Ocean Revive Leds because they are constantly lossing par on the Blue channel and burning out. Lost most of my Sps because of them. The better Leds don't seem to have this issue which seems to be shared by all the Black Box Leds

Have you looked into Orphek?

*not trying to sell a product. Just for informational purposes*

I know a person that did run orphek, they did everthing he wanted until a problem came up. He called the distributor in the US where he purchased them. They called back, said the light had to be shipped back to to the parent company, and he would have topay shipping.

The biggest problem I've found with LED chips is they will burn out quick and loose par when running hot. The cooler you can keep them the better they are which if in a enclosed hood can be difficult

What are some good led's. I willing to spend money for quality, warranty, workmanship and dependibility. But I don't know about aquaillumination or eco tech, what are some others, running 125 reef now, but have 180 to set up soon. Thanks joehump
