I have a 24 gallon nano cube. I'm looking to remove the hood and get led lights. The problem is that I don't want to spend bank$$$( I do realize they are expensive) what's a good led light?
Thanks

Agreed with the Ebay fixtures. You will not find anything cheaper that works. If you don't mind spending a little more, I think the ocean revive's are a huge upgrade for the money, but either will work

same question with tureefik
a proper spectrum is important to them isnt it?

I'm getting pretty fair growth with the cheap led's similar to the one recommended. You can adjust the intensity and color to what you find appealing. They've been running over a year now with no issues so far.

No good. Half a watt has no penetration.

Only if it's fish only. Those LED's will NOT grow corals....I don't care how small the tank is.

+1 on this. I'm running one similar over a JBJ 28 (cranked way down) and one over a 90 G with two other fixtures. You won't be disapointed.

I have a JBJ 24 gall nano cube, can I install it on the canopy? or do I need to remove the canopy and have some space in between? I was thinking to remove the bulb lights and install it there.

If you can figure out how to cut up the stock canopy to fit the fixture, it might work. The one concern I'd have is having the fixture too close to the water. Definitely would have to remove the lenses.

What I did was build a canopy:

HERE's the DIY thread on that build. Just make sure you use a quality exterior plywood.

That's what I was thinking, it'll be so close to the water, maybe around 2" above, maybe I'll just keep the one that it's installed right now.
