Don't boooo me out of the forums please. I'm trying to set up a cheap, small reef tank to tide me over until I get my own place and can setup a real nice tank. Ideally I'll get a 20 gallon IM Nuvo AIO tank. For lights that will satisfy zoos and maybe Duncan's or a bubble, on a budget, I saw a Wave Point blade 9 inch 18 watt led light that was cheap. Anyone have experience with this light and corals? I've seen people say that they used it as a sump light.

At 18 watts you aren't going to keep much happy for very long. Chaeto doesn't need as much light to grow as corals do, I stripped my nutrients with chaeto under a 3x3W LED. Look at the Kessil A80 for a nano with Zoas and low light softies and LPS. I think you'll be much happier with that light.

Ok, but I don't understand.

If 18 watts isn't enough, why are you suggesting one that is just 15 watts? Am I missing something?

There is no way of knowing without a PAR meter measurement. Sorry. It might be Ok for duncan, bubble and some zoas... they are not too light demanding. It might not be.

One of the smaller Chinese Black Boxes would be a sure-thing and probably not too much more money.
