Not trying to beat a dead horse here but would like to have a discussion about lighting.
I do not want this to become a which is better thread but more of a how to properly acclimate between the two

I changed my lighting to led 3 years ago

My sps took a beating at first and many of my lps bleached, I even lost a few

My zoas took it better, they definitely acclimated far faster to LEDs and now look better the ever but a few varieties seem to like the edges better

I still occasionally have trouble introducing new acros but have become better at acclimating them and although I have very few lps I have to hide them on the edges where they get far less light

A buddy of mine who still has halides and I just did an sps swap and after a couple months were going to compare results, I'm kinda curious which acclimate faster; led to mh or the other way around

So far I can say 2 of the 3 I got from him are doing awesome, great color and some growth. The third is a bit lighter then it should be but otherwise seems happy. I'll be checking in with him soon.

What are others experience with acclimating sps between the two types of light?

My corals all go in a 55g QT with led lights running at 100-150 PAR at the bottom and then into my 180g DT after a couple of weeks. The 180g has a 200-225 PAR at the sand. I haven't ever lost a coral due to bleaching or RTN. Having a PAR meter is a big help and it makes you friends if you are willing to loan it out!
