LED or MH or T5

I think it is obvious for me, LEDs, but that is not to say MH or T5 are bad, quite the opposite, they work fantastic. I just don't think they have as many benefits as LEDs have going for them.

I love my t5s, but I want to try LEDs. I used halides for a long time, but being able to change the bulb colors with the t5s is what sold me.

T5's. They grow stuff, look good, and the color combos are endless...enough said.

T5's for me. All have their high and low points but to my eyes the T5's look great and are great growers. When I upgrade it will be with another T5 setup.

I have had all 3. My vote is halide for now. I dont like the heat and power usage but the performance makes up for it.

All three :)

Same can be said for LEDs now. :)

I've heard a lot of people having discoloration and lack of growth with leds so to me, at this point, they aren't worth the price for a decent fixture.

You've heard from the wrong people. I'll put my 120 1w LEDs up against any 250w mh fixture/ ballast combo out there, color or growth.

I agree!! If someone is having problems with color and growth, I would look further into the problem. I have 3 different tanks running on 3 different types of led fixtures, and all have great color and growth. On my main tank I have 13 tubes of sunbright LEDs, on my cube I have a radion, and On my frag tank I have 2 kessil's. All look awesome and are growing sps great.

If by discoloration you mean some corals have better color then yes lol. But I can tell you from looking at many tanks with T5, MH, LEDs from club members I prefer my LED as do many others that switch from MH to LED. Most complaints I hear about LED is that light doesn't get to bottom of some corals and browns or kills bottom not getting light. But I've seen the same from MH setups. All lights have pros and cons none are perfect.

I think they all work when used correctly. I currently have all T5s and love them but I'd never say they are any better than a nice halide or LED set up.

Exactly.

Are my LEDs better than John Coppolino's 400w mh? No. Would those same 400w mh be the best fit for my tank? No It works for my tank which is why all these debates are silly because what one person is comfortable with and has success with on one tank will not work as well for another which is why you should make your own decision to best suit your tank and go with it. I've seen jaw dropping tanks with mh, t5 and led. All work and all have advantages and disadvantages.
