So I bought an Aqua Illumination Nano for my biocube 29 and the mounting bracket that came with it is horrible. It would only fit on a rimless tank or the false back wall of the bc. I don't want to put it on that false back wall because it doesn't seem sturdy enough, and they shipped the bracket with one of the mounting holes drilled to large... Any ideas of how I can mount this above my biocube, and how high should I mount it?? Debating drilling something to the wall to hold it, but I would need a way to make it swivel out of the way for water changes. Any ideas??

What i have heard of people doing is cutting the trim on the back of the biocube so that the mounting bracket will fit

I ended up using some pvc pipe and mounted it to the back of the stand. I had to strengthen the back of the stand by cutting some 2x4's and drilling them to it. Turned out fairly good and it allows me to swivel it out of the way for water changes. I am thinking about drilling some holes in the pipe and running the cords through them for a cleaner look. The only problem I have now is that the water evaporates like crazy. Any ideas on how to slow that down? I was thinking about a piece of acrylic and putting it on top of the tank. Will this still let the proper amount of light though?

I think a piece of acrylic will be fine. You might just have to lower the light a little to get the same par readings. I did basically the same thing on my build I am working on but I used metal conduit instead of pvc. You can see it in my build thread which is linked down below in my sig. Also I painted my hangers black and it helps it look much cleaner. I couldn't run the cords through the conduit because the large round black plug at the end of the cord(i think it is some kind of shielding) was too big to go through the conduit.
