I am looking to replace to current MH lighting. And was going to just upgrade my ballasts and reflectors. It seem that LED fixtures have come down in price and may actually be about the same is not cheaper. I have seem them but still shy away because it is new and can't seem to understand most articles. It seems just a wattage per fixture is not right but the watt per bulb x the number of bulbs is how my mind seems it should be. I have a 24" deep tank. I currently have (2) 250 MH w/4 39 watt T5's. I saw what seems like a great LED unit it is 120 watt and uses a mixture of blue and white cree 3w lights. However the unit actuallly pushes out only 2 watts per bulb. Most articles I have read this seems a great fixture but the arcticles are always about a tank around 75-90 gallons or less. What would be the par for a depth of lets say 36". This would be 24" deep tank + 12" canopy. The tank is 24" x24" x 48" so I think I would need 2 fixtures. Would this fixture be a replacement for my mixture of SPS/Clams/LPS? Also is there a ratio of white-blue bulbs I should look for?
