So I recently pick up a used (24x24x24) 60 gallon cube. The light he gave me with it was a little T5 fixture which would be ok for some very low light corals. I need to get a lights and powerheads for it. I’m looking to have a mixed reef tank and am looking for a good light that can be mounted on an arm (hanging from the ceiling is not an option). I’ve been go back and forth with the idea of an AI Hydra 64 or one of the G5 Radions. Any and all input is greatly appreciated!

I vote radion g5 or kessil a360x with reef brite combo. Hydra 64 is overkill and honestly I am a bit fed up with AI. I have never had an ai light not fail on me one way or another within a year (melted lense, psu going bad, etc.)

Which radion would you think would be better?

Check BRSTV channel for their LED testings. They routinely use the 60g cube as a template, and discuss optimum mounting height and spectrum setup.
You can’t go wrong with any of the big name LED. Choose the style, features, spectrum offerings, and price that fit you. I like the 360x spectrums, so thats what I have on my 60 cube.
Good luck.

I think I most concerned about having enough light for the few SPS corals I have that I’d like to move from my Waterbox 20 cube to the 60 gallon

I've got the same footprint 24x24 and have 2 radion xr15 g5s over it. Here is the par readings to help you make your decision. My tank is a bit shallower at 16" but I think this would get you in the ballpark for a mixed reef. Im shooting for mostly sps. Also its on ab+ settings at about 90% intensity. I got my second xr15 from someone who was running 4 over a 60gal cube. Also just some food for thought dont go for one higher powered fixture do a couple smaller ones so you have at least 2 areas the light is coming from to reduce shadowing. I noticed a big difference right away with a second light.
