I am looking for some help. I am converting my freshwater tank to salt and am trying to figure out what’s needed for lighting. I am wanting to get reefbreeder v2 lighting but have a few questions. As you can see from my picture below my hood is very shallow. What are my mounting options for a hood of this style? Will the reefbreeders produce too much heat without hood fans? The back of the hood is open so I don’t think I will have venting issues but I am not sure. It’s a 6 ft tank so I know I will need 2 strips
To get good coverage but will being that close to the water be an issue? I will probably be 6-8” above water once mounted. Lastly I do have the glass covers over the tank. Does that change the rating on the lights since it has to pass through the glass?

Have you checked out something like reef brite strips? I think they would work better as the reef breeders really need to be mounted higher up to get the right spread. They are slim and look like the might work better. I can't necessarily speak on behalf of that exact type of hood, but its something to consider.
