I have been looking at leds for months, reading, looking at prices, DIY, specs and everything, and I an more confused now than when I first started.

I need a led for a 72 bowfront, lps, and a nem. Not interested in SPS. Currently running a quad lamp T5HO display light 10,000k, 18000k, actinic, and a blue actinic plus bulb, and a 18 watt cf sump light. I don't want to pay $700+ for a brand name setup, cause I have a budget to deal with. Anyone have specific light fixtures, or DIY that would fit the bill?

Railcar. Look at Reef Radiance or Reefbreeders. Two of their budget line fixtures would fit the bill for under $400.

Oh boy you sound like me here 100%... So you have a few different options that will fit the bill. Let me start this by saying I have a Evolution 120W fixture, non dimmable, on part of my tank and I love it.

Budget sense I would look at Evolution, Apollo, Reef Breeders, or Reef Radiance. They all offer basic fixtures with limited "extras" all within your budget. I can say I have been happy with mine and would not regret getting another one.

DIY there are some good suppliers out there with Reef LED Lights being very knowledgeable on the subject. I know a few who have worked through him and he can provide a no-nonsense instruction on what will work best for your system. DIY does require some work, but you can customize as you see fit.

One DIY that has been catching my attention is the Lumia 5.1 multi chip, however there are a few debates that go with that one.

You have a text coming as well soon...

Thanks. I don't mind the work, but light is the driving force in the tank. Without it everything dies, too much and it all dies too. Halides and T5 are simple, x tank size = y lamps. After that it is just what color you want. With all the technical info floating around on led, and the cost of ordering the wrong one, it is intimidating.
